We use EPDM to cushion the mounting rail against the roof, which creates a separation layer between the different materials and avoids any chemical reactions from occurring. With its 650kPA tensile strength and its high performance in resisting UV, we use the EPDM for a secondary purpose to provide a weatherproof seal around the fixings.
